J’ai Lu - Philippe Djian

Since 2020, I have been illustrating the covers of the new J’ai lu editions of Philippe Djian’s novels.

Djian became known in the 1980s with 37°2 le matin, adapted for the cinema as Betty Blue, and remains one of the best-known voices of contemporary French fiction.

Each cover is a symbol: an extreme close-up on a single detail of the story. The idea is to create a slight gap between the title and the image, just enough to build some tension.
